The amount of people online that gave me sh** for this! Go and do full gold for your wedding sir! All jokes aside, I had a very practical reason for not having a gold headpiece. & that’s because when will I ever wear it after this wedding? Instead, I opted for a beautiful pearl and kundan matha patti (headpiece). I thought that the pearls made my face shine brighter in person and absolutely loved my look. I would not change a thing about this. A year later, when we did our portrait shoot (not yet posted), I repeated this same exact look. It’s my version of a very classic Bengali bridal style. Since I was a kid devouring doomsday docs, I’ve been drawn to “Yo, humanity, fix this” media. From #michaelmoore to Naomi Klein, those joints shaped my worldview. It’s overwhelming at first. Then I feel informed, maybe inspired. But yeah, I still eat meat, buy plastic, and leave carbon footprints. So I remind myself: “Yo, you get it. Do what you can.
