This sighting comes exactly one year after we were delighted to find 3 healthy juveniles on another beach (after not seeing any living sundlower stars since 2013) Though we saw this wasted star, there were hundreds of leather stars and mottled stars that were healthy and thriving. Lots of decorator crabs out during last weeks negative tides. During the winter, the lowest tides happen at night so thats when our team of volunteers goes to collect data on the beach inhabitants.
