100% of Girl Scout Cookies contained at least 4 out of 5 heavy and toxic metals, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury from a recent test....this is on top the already appalling ingredients (see below). INGREDIENTS in Girl Scout Samoas Sugar, vegetable oil (palm kernel, palm and soybean oil), enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, vitamin B1 [thiamin mononitrate], vitamin B2 [ riboflavin], folic acid), corn syrup, coconut, sweetened condensed milk (milk, sugar), contains 2% percent or less of sorbitol, cocoa, glycerin, invert sugar, cocoa processed with alkali, cornstarch, salt, caramel color, dextrose, natural and artificial flavors, soy lecithin, sorbitan tristearate, leavening (baking soda, monocalcium phosphate), carrageenan. Why not try these 4-INGREDIENT SAMOAS instead? It's girl scout season! These were by far my favorite growing up (with thin mints coming in a close second). They do not disappoint! Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut 1 cup soft dates 2 Tbsp organic @SunButter or almond butter Melted unsweetened chocolate Method: Toast coconut in oven at 350 F for 5 minutes until brown. In a food processor, blend toasted coconut, dates, and sunflower seed butter / almond butter until a sticky batter forms. Form into desired shape, then using a chopstick (or whatever you've got) make a hole in the center of each cookie. Place in freezer while melting chocolate. Dip bottom of each cookie in chocolate and drizzle over the top. Freeze for 2 minutes for chocolate to harden then enjoy!
