#SandiegoPizza: Sun-soaked slices, crispy crusts, local favorites, hidden gems. Beachy vibes, delicious toppings, foodie adventures. Discover the best pizza in America's Finest City!
We're on a mission to try all of San Diego's top pizza spots & you guys said to check out @Regents Pizzeria , a staple serving up both NY and Chicago-style za' in the heart of La Jolla. Now I completely understand why you guys recommended this gem! 🍻🍕 Regents Pizzeria opened back in 2005 (can't believe this is the first time I've tried their Deep Dish as someone who grew up in Chicago!) and they're a fan favorite. Jonathan immediately noticed their sick line-up of craft beers on draft (I think they said they had over 30+ rotating options) so we started off with a beer flight. We also ordered a classic Caesar Salad (you can tell a lot about a joint by a classic like this one) and it was delicious with LOADS of parmesan cheese. We also ordered some classic buffalo wings as they're apparently famous and they were a 10/10 - exactly how I'd describe the most perfect buffalo wing. P.S. if you enjoy things REALLY spicy, they have scorpion hot wings at 2 million Scoville units if you are up for a challenge. The star of their show is definitely the pizza. They have both NY-style & Chicago Deep Dish which you can get a whole pie of or just grab a slice, so that's nice! We opted for the Pepperoni Chicago Top Down pizza and as someone who grew up eating a lot of deep dish, this one is a winner! It is incredibly cheesy, the crust held up super well, & we loved the acidity of the sauce. Honestly if you're looking for some Valentine's Day ideas, just grab one of these bad boys & curl up with a good movie. Nothing is more romantic than loads of cheese + carbs (or eat inside for the fun vibes). Plus a little sweet treat like their creamy Tiramisu or fluffy Zeppole is my ideal Valentine's Day gift so all the lovers....take notes lol. Overall, I get why people love this joint. It’s a bit more of an investment than some pizza spots, but with premium ingredients & generous portions, you’re definitely getting what you pay for. What We Ordered ⬇️ Beer Flight - ~$8 Caesar Salad (regular - $11) 6 Piece Buffalo Wings - $12 Pepperoni Deep Dish - $43 Tiramisu - $8.50 Zeppole - $8.50 #sandiegopizza #deepdishpizza #sandiegoeats #bestpizzaintown #sandiegofood #bestpizza #buffalowings #sandiegopizzajoint #lajollapizza

I'm on a mission to find & try all of the best pizza spots across San Diego and soooo many of you guys recommended Angry Pete's for top-tier Detroit style za and you did not let me down! First things first, this gem located in Kearny Mesa is actually the only pizza spot that has a drive-through, because it used to be a Taco Bell! They took it over & kept all of the classic old-school Taco Bell decor which is actually iconic. They had a really fun and unique menu, which included a variety of Detroit-style pizzas, smashburgers, salads, wings, mac & cheese, and even a Detroit-style coney dog! If you're a Michigan transplant, you'll appreciate their large selection of Faygo's, & Jonathan appreciated their large selection of Hazy IPAs. Check out everything we ordered below - it truly was one of the best Detroit-style pizzas (and honestly one of the best food spots) we've experienced in San Diego. The pizza was packed with flavor and had the most perfect crispy, cheesy edges. Everything was really affordable as well, which was refreshing, & they even have some great happy hour deals to make it even more affordable which I've highlighted below. The staff were all super nice, & there was even trivia going on when we went and so many families came to eat & play. I highly recommend checking out this spot the next time you're looking for a new place to enjoy, or for your pizza fix! What We Ordered: Lions, Tigers & Wolverines Detroit Style Pizza - $23 4x4 American Smashburger & Jojo's Wedge Fries - $15 Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo (seasonal special) - $16 Happy Hour Mon/Sat/Sun all day or Tues-Friday 2-6pm $5 Draft Beers $11 Draft & Slice $28 full pizza AND two draft beers (Detroit Double Deal - any 2 pizzas for $38) Hours: 11 AM - 8 PM Location: 5335 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA #sandiegopizza #sandiegopizzajoint #detroitstylepizza #detroitpizzas #sandiegofood #sandiegoburger #kearnymesa #wheretoeatinsandiego
