Hey everyone, just a quick update! This first month of ceramics has been so much fun—there’s been so much to figure out, from slipcasting and mold-making to messing with firing schedules and glazes. It’s been a lot of learning and its been really fulfilling seeing everything come together. I’ve tried a few different casting slips, and each one has its own quirks. Some bring out glazes really well but shrink way more than expected, while others are easier to work with but don’t have the same color pop. Still figuring out the sweet spot, but it’s cool seeing how different materials react. Also been tweaking my firings—bisque vs. glaze firing, getting a feel for how specialty glazes (especially crystalline) need super specific timing to do their thing. It’s definitely a learning process, but I’m starting to get a clearer idea of the style I want to focus on That said, I need a little more time, so the shop update is moving to Saturday the 8th at 12 PM to make sure everything’s good to go. I apologize for the delay and appreciate the patience—can’t wait to show you the finished products! Also, I’d love to hear which glazes you all like the most! So far, it feels like a mixed bag—blue has been the most popular, but the crystal patterns seem to be what really catches people's attention, while the color itself takes a bit of a backseat. Please let me know what you think!
