This iPad displayed a large current draw as soon as we pressed the power button, yet it stubbornly refused to boot. Under the microscope, no obvious shorts or burnt components were visible. We tested the power area, an especially delicate zone, but still found no issues. Only after applying rosin to susceptible spots and repeatedly powering on the board with a bench power supply meter did the tablet finally spring to life. Why did it suddenly decide to boot after several failed attempts? Many repair technicians refer to this phenomenon as a shock method. Essentially, repeated power supply bursts can burn through a shorted capacitor, allowing it to stop grounding the circuit. While not every short can be resolved in this manner, sometimes it's enough to bring a device back from a seemingly critical state. Once our iPad Pro powered on, we reattached all cables, applied fresh adhesive around the frame, and reminded viewers that iPads lack any meaningful water resistance - so caution is essential. Before concluding the repair, we tested all major functions, from audio playback to cameras, Wi-Fi, and the flash. Everything worked flawlessly.
