Hyperpigmentation is a tricky condition to tackle. But it can be done! 🤎Hydroquinone needs to be used in intervals because there’s a risk of paradoxical darkening of the skin so we suggest 3 months off and 1 month off. So tranexamic acid is a great option. It provides an anti-inflammatory action to the skin, inhibiting pigment production in pigment cells known as melanocytes. 🤎Vitamin c is a valuable ingredient for fighting pigmentation because it’s a powerful antioxidant that can help protect skin from sun damage. 🤎And of course SUNSCREEN! If you’re in the process of fighting pigmentation (or not), keeping your skin protected is key. Using products like hydroquinone, tranexamic acid, retinol, glycolic acid and other lightening agents can make the skin more photo sensitive. This can cause the exsisting pigmentation to darkening. So sunscreen it up!
