They said I couldn't do it. In the state of Utah, you have to be off parole for at least 10 years to get back inside the prison abd speak with the men on the inside. I was determined to get inside and show the men, I once sat in prison with for 7 years, that we can become the best version of ourselves. That a thug ass mutha fucka from the streets can become a great father to his children. And after 2 years of release, I now go inside the prison regularly to motivate the men inside about growth and true lasting growth. Being a husband,father and the provider of my house does take a toll mentally but I always make sure I get the job done as good as I can. It wasn’t until last week when I was having my time alone with God and talking with him about my thoughts and concerns that he reminded me who was in control and for me to be mentally present for my family as much as spiritually present! You see we get caught up in our daily thoughts of what’s going to happen the next day with work or life that we can’t fully be mentally present in our kids lives because we always keep our daily thoughts of struggles right next to time of being present! So I encourage you to learn to really turn off your mindset of work and it’s problems so you can be mentally healthy and present for your family especially your kids , so that when they come to you you give them the mentally healthy answer to their own thoughts and feelings and problems. #soberthoughts #postivevibes #soberdad
