I finally took some time off work during the holidays and started a new game of Stardew to enjoy the recent update. Inspiration struck. What if I redid my meteor geese painting in a different style? I spent 3 days with a teeny tiny brush on this small 4x4” canvas to merge the pixel art style with my own flair. IT IS SO CUTE. To expand a bit on the science, streaks of light appear when a small rocky body called a meteoroid enters Earth’s atmosphere and collides with air molecules. Meteoroids range in size from a tiny dust grain to about 1 meter in size. Larger than this, they’re called asteroids. Once in the atmosphere, we call it a meteor (aka shooting star). A fireball is just another term for a meteor brighter than Venus in the morning or evening sky. This particular space rock back in May 2024 was likely a small comet fragment moving rather quickly. It burned up over the Atlantic Ocean. Since elements light up in signature colors when vaporized, the blues of this fireball were from magnesium. I’ll include this piece in my next update, but it will be hard to let go of! My work goes fast, so get on my email list for early access & a link when I open up. Happy to restock some meteor geese prints too, just let me know. 🤗
