CRUSTING for ostomy bags‼️ Crusting is using stomadhesive powder and barrier wipes to create a hard “crust” over irritated skin to protect it and allow it to heal while being covered by your wafer adhesive. How to form a good crust: 1. Clean your skin and dry it as much as possible 2. Put stoma powder on the affected areas, tap off the excess 3. Use Barrier wipes (preferably the extra liquid in the packaging) to saturate the stoma powder. 4. DAB - do not wipe (it will wipe the powder away) 5. Allow to dry completely 6.
