This is sunshine ☀️ at first I thought he was a stray cat because I would always see him roaming the streets of where my friend lived by. I would randomly feed him until one day this really old man came from this house and said that was his cat and that his name was sunshine. I asked if it was OK to feed him and he said it was fine. before I found out he belonged to the people in this house. I thought about picking him up and taking him to the shelter to get him scanned for a chip not knowing this is where he lives. He’s not an “indoor “ and “outdoor” cat. He is an only outdoor cat. I’ve seen him out when I leave to the gym at 4 am. to think in the conditions that he’s been in is just completely heartbreaking. he doesn’t look well taken care of. He’s also not well nourished and every time I approach him he ripped his body on my hands because all he wants is love.. He deserves love and proper care!! I saw him this morning and broke down in tears. there’s never food out for him. It’s freezing this morning and he’s been out in these freezing and rainy days. I didn’t have extra food in my trunk so I didn’t get down. I am emailing my local animal shelter and will explain to them the story. We moved them to a warmer section of our courtyard, where they could finally escape the biting winter air. Our next step was to build them a dedicated space - a treehouse-inspired cat climbing frame crafted from a salvaged log. We secured the log with cement inside an old tire, then painstakingly polished and sanded it for a smooth finish. Using leftover wood and acrylic sheets, we constructed two adorable mini houses at different heights on the frame. Each house has circular doorways and windows, perfect for curious cats to explore. We even added small carpets to provide warmth and nailed strips of carpet on the stepping boards so the cats can sharpen their claws without damaging the wood.
