I'm working on Scherzo in D Minor by Gurlitt. As some of you know, I have a reflex issue with my right hand that is debilitating in nature, which is why I haven't played the piano in a while. I recently went through occupational therapy, but it didn’t provide much relief. The issue arises when typing or playing the piano, primarily affecting my fourth finger. That said, the art of piano playing is more about wrist and hand movements than the fingers themselves. I’m in the process of rebuilding my piano technique from the ground up, focusing on wrist rotation, forward motion, and using the fingers more as a support rather than the main driver of the music. This requires me to play slowly and methodically. This also serves as a good example for Charlie, showing him how to practice effectively.
