Y’all, the coolest thing I’ve been working on lately is called Comedy Rumble. It has nothing to do with Mormonism or polygamy, because those aren’t the most interesting or important things about me. Mormon polygamy is something that happened TO me; Comedy Rumble is something happening FROM me. And it’s banger. I’ve created a show that gives opportunities to young comics by through a comedy competition show. In every show, local, underground comics prepare 1 minute of brand new material and then compete head to head for stage time. The audience votes which comics move through to different rounds. In round 2, they get 3 minutes. In round 3, they get 5 minutes. The winning comic closes with 10 minutes. We’ve got the Rumble spinning in Salt Lake and Las Vegas and soon in Denver, Phoenix, and Atlantic City. Over the next ten years, expect to have a Rumble in every major city with a comedy scene. So that’s what I’ve been up to instead of watching Sisterwives. It’s my soul’s work and it’s thrilling to be doing it.
