I’m not your mom but drink responsibly😅 this is a guide to exploring Xochimilco, Mexico OOO diaries: Mexico City honestly, I did not have the highest expectations for this excursion. I thought it was going to be too touristy. But it was one of my favorite activities in CDMX when you’re in Mexico City, make your way to Xochimilco. the vibrant, colorful gondolas, or Xochimilco Trajineras, are a fun and inexpensive way to mingle with the local people and culture. if you are traveling solo I highly recommend booking a full tour on sites like Viator or Airbnb. If not you may end up having to rent a boat all to yourself and honestly that’s not the vibe you’re looking for now. If you have a group you may be able to negotiate renting out a boat for your entire group, but I don’t know having that TOUR guide there really makes the experience better! With the tour that I booked, I not only got the boat ride. I got lunch which were traditional quesadillas, drinks both alcoholic, and nonalcoholic a Michelada class a gardens tour and get a history tour about the area. now getting here takes a little bit of coordination. it is not right in the center of CDMX but about 35 minutes drive away. you will either have to book an Uber or Lyft or drive yourself there. bring actual cash or pesos with you so that you can buy food from vendors and clothing from vendors that are floating on the canal selling their items my last tip would be to explore the actual town. There’s a huge marketplace. It is so cool to see a bit rustic, but I think it’s worth going to see as well. sometimes you can give your boat tour guide and to show you around. My favorite tour guide in Mexico City was he so cool and a rapper! What excursion has surprised you while traveling? #mexicocity #travelguides #theptonomad
