I'd also like to recommend the novel/movie "The Wave" that's based on an experiment which took place in the U.S. in the 1960s. The novel (1981) is by the American author Todd Strasser (sometimes also listed under his pseudonym Morton Rhue) and the movie (2008) is a German production but is available with English subtitles on Prime Video.
