The tallest Christmas tree in Alabama... ...is in Opelika and weighs nearly 18,000 pounds and took a week to be installed by more than 70 volunteers. Standing at 72 feet tall, the massive tree has 1058 individual branches, 4,232 ornaments and more than 105,000 lights stretching six miles. It’s also only two feet shy of being as tall as the Christmas tree on display at Rockefeller Center in New York City this year.
