IS SOUTH AFRICA SAFE? 🇿🇦⬇️ Yes and no. YES - as a solo woman traveling to Cape Town and Kruger in South Africa, I can say (from at least my personal experience) that there were NO times at all I felt unsafe. BUT I also followed local safety advice and avoided certain areas. No - because EVERYWHERE you travel in the entire world has inherent risks (yes, even the USA and Europe). I'm just tired of people making assumptions about places they've NEVER been to. The media loves to sensationalize bad things about different countries - sometimes they are true and sometimes they are WAY overblown. It's up to YOU to make a choice for yourself, do the research, and ask ACTUAL locals and/or people who have visited the area themselves. All of that being said, I need to acknowledge that at this point I am a HIGHLY experienced solo traveler, so a place I feel safe at might feel unsafe to someone else. And on top of that, I ALWAYS make smart choices everywhere I go, built on my experiences and knowledge - not going anywhere alone at night, having theft-proof bags, checking in with family back home regularly, and other safety tactics. So you might travel to South Africa solo and not feel the same as me. But please give Africa a CHANCE. It is truly SO underrated, and the people there are so welcoming and kind, if you would just see for yourself! Have you ever avoided a place because you heard it was unsafe? . #femalesolotraveler #solotraveler #capetownsouthafrica #visitsouthafrica #travelsouthafrica #travelsolo #girlswhotravel #travelgirls

the way he peeks around the curtain still has me dying 😂 hung out inside after and we chatted for an hour. the concept of this place is even better than the name 😝 they save 1.5 tonnes (3,300ish lbs) of food per day at their 12 locations by grabbing unbought product from local bakeries and selling it 50% off. #aessbar #lucerne #switzerland #travelsolo #theshowmustgoon #travelwithme #joyoftheunknown

How to SAFELY travel solo (save & share): After exploring 70 countries alone, here are 4 essential safety tips: Download an eSIM card This will be your digital lifeline abroad. Where's your 2025 bucket list trip??? . #2025 #travelplanning #solotraveler #solofemaletravel #solotraveltips #girlstravel #travelsolo #travelguides #forbestravelguide
Should I do a pt 2: what I DON'T struggle with? Don't get me wrong, solo travel is the BEST thing that could have ever happened to me. But as with any other form of travel, it has its good days and its bad days, and it's not always this glorious adventure. I more wanted to share this so that other solo travelers know it's OKAY to have a bad day. You can love and loathe solo travel in the same space of time. Social media is a highlight reel, and it can be very invalidating to your own experiences. I also want to share more for anyone who has NOT traveled solo - it helps give you an idea of what you might face and I hope that this helps you prepare for those tougher days. For me, the pros of solo travel outweigh the cons, and I will never NOT recommend solo travel. Did any of these surprise you? Have you faced any of these? . #solotraveler #solofemaletravel #solotraveltips #travelsolo #girlstravel #femalesolotraveler #travelgirls

This is part 2 - see my bio for part 1! In part 1 of this mini series, I shared the things I DO still struggle with as a solo traveler, so in this part I wanted to share the things I NO longer struggle with - because solo travel is truly such a joy and has opened up an entire world for me. As with any form of travel, solo travel definitely has its pros and cons and for ME, the pros outweigh the cons ANY day. I hope this encourages you to try out solo travel, if you haven't already - try it at least once! I remember at the start how difficult everything was - and now I'm looking back on YEARS of experience. So don't feel bad if you DO still struggle with these things or you are finding solo travel challenging. It's okay! And it DOES get better with practice - like anything else! I encourage you to give it a try, work through your mistakes, learn and do better next time, and love every moment that you get to learn who YOU are and what YOU love. Live in the moment and feel proud that you have tried something not everyone is ready to face! What are your thoughts on solo travel? Struggles? Joys? . #solotraveler #solofemaletravel #solotraveltips #travelsolo #girlstravel #femalesolotraveler #travelgirls
