disclaimer ✨ i do not have gestational diabetes— my blood sugar was 71 & they were looking for it to be <140 after the 1 hour test. TW: loss, TTC I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since we found out we were expecting our rainbow baby. Losing a pregnancy & going though months of trying to conceive after was some of the hardest, most challenging times of my life. I was so sad. I tried so hard to stay hopeful & positive, almost to the point of being delusional about it at times. Other times, the sadness & hopelessness would creep in. If you’re currently in this season, you are not alone. Stay hopeful. Look for the signs to keep going. For me, it was butterflies. A symbol that is now in our daughter’s nursery as a reminder of just how very special & meant to be she is. To keep going when things are hard & to always come back to being positive. I was so open about our story all along the way sharing our loss, sharing each month how I felt living my life two weeks at a time with the cycle of waiting to try & then waiting to see if we were pregnant. I cried & showed emotion in public (a very public platform no less) which is not my favorite thing when I started my period. I told you all right away when we found out we were pregnant to break the stigma of loss incase it happened again & I shared every symptom & feeling along the way. I did all this because when I went through loss it helped me to know I wasn’t alone in my feelings.
