This is a question I get asked all the time, and it’s really a question with no fancy, magic product or secret serum as the answer…✍🏽 I’ve been growing my natural hair for 9 years, which had a lot of ups and downs! Consistency has been the factor of discipline that helped me fall in love with my curly hair!👸🏽✨ @YouTube was my playbook for finding tutorials on curly hairstyles or product recommendations. I literally kept a written journal on what things I wanted to try😅 At 14, I had NO IDEA where to even start with my curls. I didn’t know how to manage it all. It was intimidating to try washing it on my own or evening wearing it out. I would get so frustrated with it that I’d just ask my mom to braid it, so I didn’t have to deal with it🥲 For so long, the beauty standard was straight hair & I didn’t fit that category, which was uncomfortable.
