Why yes, as a therapist I enjoy watching emotional evoking movies, and then process what comes up for me. 🥺❤️🩹 Coping skill level: intermediate Requires safety, comfort, compassion, and curiosity. ❤️🩹 Emotions have to be felt, which means physically or somatically felt. Crying is a release, it’s literally your nervous system regulating. Just as laughing is regulating joy. 🥰 I watch movies when my nervous system has been dysregulated, to spend time with myself and ground, and help move through my emotions by feeling them. ✨ P.S.-Don’t pick a movie that is about what you’re actively experiencing, or consult your therapist, as that may be too activating for your nervous system. ❤️🩹 What is your favorite movie to put you in your feels?🥺🫶🏻❤️🩹✨
