Share this with someone you want to road trip through Michigan with! 📍Frankfort, MI - A small coastal town with great fishing, lighthouses, a quaint downtown with yummy restaurants and some of the best ice cream in the state - Moomers! Highly recommend walking out to the Frankfort Lighthouse. 📍Crystal Lake - right on the town of Beulah - this is one of the most beautiful lakes we’ve ever seen. I would recommend checking out the town too, but absolutely kayak or paddle board or spend time at the beach on Crystal Lake! 📍Sleeping Bear Dunes - This is such an incredible experience, but definitely takes work! I recommend hiking to get to Lake Michigan at the end. It’s about 4 miles round trip and through sand dunes. Bring lots of water and a hat because there is very little shade. 📍Traverse City - This is a beautiful city right along the water. So many restaurants - I highly recommend eating at Harrington’s by the bay, Taproot Cider House and The Tasting Room. You also HAVE to go to the original Moomers for the best ice cream in Michigan. 📍Mackinac Island - You’re not driving here, but you can drive to St. Ignace or Mackinac City and take the ferry over to explore! The island has no motor vehicles so I recommend bringing a bike or renting one. There are also horse and carriages. The island is known for its fudge - and you definitely want to check out the old fort and the arch rock. 📍Copper Harbor - last but absolutely not least - head to the upper peninsula and explore Copper Harbor! We fell in love with the UP. Make sure you drive Brockway Mountain, check out horseshoe harbor and stop by Jamsen’s bakery! Have you visited Michigan yet? Steal our itinerary for an epic road trip in the USA👇🏼 I would say the best time for this road trip is in the fall - it’s less busy or at least for us it was! 📍Colorado Springs, CO - This area has a lot going for outdoor activities and small city life. We loved the Garden of the Gods, Paint Mines and Mount Cutler. 📍Canon City, CO - We stopped here for the most epic train ride! It was absolutely incredible going through the Royal Gorge. 📍Great Sand Dunes National Park - This felt like a must stop because who doesn’t want to sand board or sand sled? We felt like we were in another country here. Just wish we got to go back, beware of windy days and sand blowing! 📍Page, AZ - We LOVED Page, AZ and plan to go back. Some of our favorites included Deer Canyon, Navajo Bridge, Waterhole Canyon, Wire Pass, Horseshoe bend and flying with @antelopeair. 📍Grand Canyon, AZ - We had to go to the Grand Canyon because we’d never been. It was indeed, grand! We did a little of the Bright Angel trail but hiking rim to rim is on our bucket list! 📍Sedona, AZ - We fell in love quickly here. We could easily go back and spend another month. Some of our favorites were Subway Cave, Chicken Point, Cathedral Rock and an epic train ride with @verdecanyonrail. #usaroadtrip #usatravel #roadrip #colorado #arizona

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to wait 40+ years to live the life I want 😩 After Alex went through some serious health issues fall of 2020, like having an unexpected series of strokes at 25, we knew something had to change. Nothing is wrong with living in a house, but we got tired of going through the motions and checking off the “American Dream” boxes. 🇺🇸 After getting married August 2021, we got our house ready to short term rent, secured remote jobs, and hit the road March 2022. 📌Save this for your next trip to Oregon🌊🌲 Samuel H. Boardman State Park is located right off of the famous Highway 101 and follows that coast line for 12 miles! There are so many scenic spots to pull off and enjoy this state park but arguably the most iconic view is Natural Bridges Viewpoint. Natural Bridges Viewpoint is right off on the side of the road so you don’t have to hike. But the view you may see on social media about it no longer exists due to it being too dangerous and people falling off the steep and narrow trail… so here is the alternative hike that we did instead TRAIL DETAILS👇🏽 📍Trail - Secret Beach Trail 🥾Distance - 1.9 miles 📈Rated Moderate on @alltrails ☁️Elevation Gain - 406ft We didn’t hike this entire trail. It eventually forks and we took the left route to the ocean lookout and then hiked back to the car.
