✨save for your next trip to Zion National Park✨ This is the Scout Lookout Trail and it takes you up to a beautiful overlook right before the permitted chains section of Angels Landing. It’s a great alternative if you can’t get a permit or don’t feel comfortable completing the chained section! 📍Scout Lookout via West Rim Trail - 3.6 miles and 1,122 feet of gain. I opted to hike a half mile further up the west rim trail to some more beautiful views of angels landing which I would definitely say was worth it if you have the time and want to add some extra mileage. Some things to note about this trail: 👇 ✨Parking is limited at the trailhead and you’re probably going to want a high clearance vehicle to get to it, if you don’t have one or the parking is full you can take a shuttle from Zion Ponderosa ✨There’s some seriously steep drop offs at the overlook, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re taking kids ✨Make sure you bring plenty of water! ✨There’s no bathrooms at the trailhead, so plan accordingly ‼️And most importantly, leave it better than you found it by packing out all of your trash (yes this includes food scraps!) #observationpoint #zionnationalpark #zionnps #utahhiking #greaterzion #visitutah
