🚨 Albee Needs Your Help! 🚨 Right now, our beloved Albee is on his way to Mid Atlantic Equine Hospital where veterinarians from Cornell are meeting him for a critical CT scan. He has been battling severe arthritis in his stifle joint, and previous treatments are no longer working. Our only hope is a groundbreaking “knee replacement surgery” a procedure never before performed on an industrial pig. We don’t even know if he’s a candidate yet, and this first step alone is very costly…$5,000 just for the scan! Watching him struggle breaks our hearts, but there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for him. He spent the night cozy in the trailer with straw and heat lamps, since the only way of loading him is with food and he needs to be fasting for today’s procedure, he began his journey very early this morning. Even though everything is about Albee, it’s also about advancing farm animal medicine and proving that animals like him deserve the same care and compassion as any other patient. This advanced imaging will give us an in-depth look at his bone density, hips, and overall limb structure to ensure his body can support an implanted knee.
