Through the wind rushing Izuku can tell he's probably somewhere up high. Izuku hums, jogging to blend into the rushing crowd. "Not exactly. No location but I did find a money trail. Might lead somewhere." "Do you need a pick up?" "Sure. My date's probably cancelled now anyway." The heroes are gonna have a few days to sort through that mess. Shoto was supposed to have the night off but knowing the HPSC they'll probably call in every top ten hero available. "By the way," Hawks says casually, "Teacher says she's gonna call your parents if you don't show up for dinner on Saturday. Sounded serious too." "!!! I'm not in high school anymore! She can't just tell on me to my mom cuz she's worried! I'm a grown man! A man!" "Ehhh, still got the babyface there, Doll." Hawks jokes, ever teasing. "Besides she's just keeping an eye out. This living a double life ain't easy for any of us. Even if it is ‘for the greater good.’ " Izuku hates that phrase. They all do. The HPSC can justify a lot with a motto like that. Izuku sighs. "I know it's on her head if I mess up, I didn't forget.” “She's not worried about herself. You know the Director isn't above sending her to take out her own apprentice." Izuku doesn't ask whether or not she would follow orders on that one. He seriously doesn't want to know. "Tell her I'm fine." "Nah. Tell her yourself or 'prepare to face the consequences,' as she said." Izuku grimaces, rubbing his shoulder. Teacher had been particularly attached to hitting him in that spot. He still remembers not being able to move for almost a full day after all the target practice they'd done. Paint ball, of course, but they still bruised and he'd been running from her scope for hours. He hadn't managed to end the game until he got one shot on her and by that point he'd been exhausted and covered head to toe in pink and purple paint and regretting ever having agreed to apprentice under her. Lady Nagant had only looked down at him with a stern glint in her eye, telling him to think twice next time he felt like disobeying orders. “Come on, kid. You could use a break. So could I honestly." For once Izuku hears the exhaustion in Hawks voice. He forgets sometimes just how long Hawks has been doing this undercover agent thing. Izuku's been bending over backwards to keep damage and interaction with heroes low. Shigaraki’s been willing to let it pass knowing Izuku's stubborness as a vigilante with his own agenda. So long as they don't interfere in each other's grander plans, they're willing to work on this side project together. He's lucky he didn't have to go fully undercover as a villain like Hawks yet. Izuku doesn't know how long that will last though. Eventually he'll have to start making sacrifices. "Fine, I'll see you guys Saturday. What are we having?" "Fried chicken!" "I want katsudon." "Chicken!" "Katsudon!” ...... Final notes: Hawks and Izuku are both undercover for the HPSC. Hawks as a villain and Izuku as a vigilante collaborating with villains. It might seem redundant but there's several plans in play between villains, heroes, and the commission. Izuku is but one small piece doing his best- even if it means betraying those who trust him the most. On a sort of funny note- the HPSC is freaking out about all the data breaches across the country as well as several of their facilities and offices being compromised- they've been working day and night to find the culprit, not realizing it's one of their own undercover operatives doing their job a tad too well.
