![Poor Adriana 🥺 $5 was nothing to sneeze at back in the 1930s, which would be about $110 today. So we went in to have lunch and it was a very nice lunch and it was fifty cents. He said, ‘See, Adriana, how inexpensive this is. You can eat here every time.’ But he didn’t know I didn’t have the fifty cents. When mother would give me a candy bar I didn’t have… We had no money. If she could make a sandwich, she’d make a sandwich and I would eat the sandwich at Disney’s, but they didn’t know I had no money to go across the street. If I had the nickel to come home, it was great, but if I didn’t have it, [Walt] took me home a couple of times. I think he knew that I was pretty broke, so he’d offer to take me home, and this was when he said to me one day, ‘You know, if you come up with any ideas that are good, I would certainly enjoy that, because we could use that and then I would give you five dollars.’ And [one day] I was on the set and he happened to be there. So I walked over to him and I said, ‘If you could get a bird to imitate me, we would do something like…’ And I had the exact melody and he used it exactly: [sings ahhhhhhh]. And he said, ‘Hey, guys, come over here! Look what the kid’s got. She’s got an idea!’ This is the truth. That’s used in the movie. And I still wanna know where’s the five bucks! If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay in central Tokyo, Japan that has a Ryokan style to it then consider a stay at this charming hotel! 😍🇯🇵🛌 This ryokan-style hotel is located in the district of Asakusa which literally walking distance to the Asakusa train station and Sensoji-Temple. A ryokan is a traditional Japanese style inn. The hotel also has natural hot springs which are called onsen in Japan. The hallways & rooms are lined with tatami mats. You must remove your shoes before you enter and store them away in a locker of your choosing. Don’t forget to take your key with you cause you’ll need them to get your shoes back. The rooms are clean & small which is standard for Tokyo lodging but it has all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. The room is equipped with a futon bed, tv, views of Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree, complimentary water & snacks, a yukata (Japanese bathrobe), grooming kits which include a toothbrush, razor blade, shower cap, and more. As well as an electric kettle to make some tea or coffee. The bathroom has a toto toilet which separated by a mini shower which includes body wash, shampoo, & conditioner. The hotel offers buffet breakfast for a daily rate of 2,800 JPY for adults and 1,400 JPY for kids. Both Western & Japanese style breakfast is available. Breakfast is served 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The dining room has plenty of seating and large windows with natural light coming in. You’ll find plenty of breakfast options such as pastries, soft boiled eggs, salmon, daifuku, cereal, a fruit & salad bar, as well as coffee, green tea, & soda machine. The natural hot springs & sauna are on the lower floor which are gender segregated filming of the hot springs area wasn’t allowed due to no clothes being allowed. How to spend a day trip to Mount Fuji from Tokyo, Japan! 🇯🇵🗻😍 Mt. Fuji is surrounded by five lakes known as the Fuji Five Lakes. Lake Kawaguchiko is the most easily accessible out of the five lakes. It’s a hot spring resort town with various tourist attractions and breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji around the lake! There are train and direct bus connections from Tokyo! I ended up taking the bus from Tokyo’s Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal! Which is about 2200 JPN ($14) one way. The bus ride is about 2 hours. You’ll be hit with the beautiful sight of Mt. Fuji on a clear day right before the last stop. Once you arrive at Kawaguchiko Station (last bus stop) explore the Kawaguchiko stations gift shop and pick up some souvenirs! Also try their tasty sweet bean cake! As well as Japanese strawberry sponge cake & matcha latte at this little food truck called Fujiyama Cookie near the station! Next ride the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway up to Mt. Tenjo’s observation deck which offers breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko below! Round trip tickets costs 1000 JPY ($6) for adults and 500 JPY ($3) for kids. Couples can also ring the Bell of Tenjo which is suspended in a heart shaped frame to keep their relationship happy. There’s also hiking trails, tons of photo ops, a rabbit shrine, & local folklore to engage in such as tale of the tanuki & rabbit also know as kachi kachi yama! The cable car ride to the top takes about 3 minutes. You can also hike to the top which is 45 mins. Next try some tasty cheesecake at Cheesecake Garden. Try the basque, sour cream, & asagiri kougen cheesecake which are their best sellers! You get a free cup of coffee for every piece of cheesecake you order. Also try their red bean buns! Right before you take the bus back to Tokyo, If you have room for it try Oshiruko at the Ryo from Kawaguchiko Food Truck.
