๐White Sands National Park DOG FRIENDLY! New Mexico The details: You can go sand sledding, hike, drive the 8 mile scenic drive or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the day at the dunes. THE DUNES These gypsum sand dunes are very easy to walk on compared to other sand dunes. If you've been to Great Sand Dunes in Colorado, these dunes are MUCH easier to walk on. DOG FRIENDLY Dogs are allowed everywhere as long as they are on leash and you pick up after them. Just be mindful of the temperature outside and make sure you have plenty of water and can protect your dog's feet if it is a very hot day. Don't forget to keep an eye out for cactus or snakes as both are common in the park. SAND SLEDDING You can bring any sled for sledding but they do recommend you wax the bottom. You can buy wax in the visitors center & they also sell sleds. ๐1.5 miles north of El Paso is White Sands National Park in #NewMexico. ๐๏ธ275 square miles of pristine gypsum dunes make it the largest in the world. I've been a couple of times now but this was my first year to attempt #Sandboarding. This was one of my favorite destinations visited this year.
