What a year❣️overwhelmingly good but not without growing pains. I got bangs, internal ultrasounds, and an espresso machine. Lots of quality time spent w/ people I love. Lots of A24 movies. Lots of special travels. Not enough time spent being creative, going to concerts, or confronting the moral apathy epidemic. I got back into therapy, remembered the way Mary Oliver poems make me feel, and spent the last day of my 20s tubing to outer space. I did establish some new hobbies like taking film photos, making egg salad every Monday, and going on fart walks after dinner. I repaired relationships and strained others. I continued taking polaroids, curating trips, and decorating with disco balls. I discovered the magic that is an audiobook for ADHD brains. I learned a lot about my body from highly educated strangers as we navigated the ~fertility journey~ and while I had so much naive hope going into 2024 that I’d be leaving pregnant, I’m so proud of the time and effort Seb and I dedicated to jumping through the many anticipated and unanticipated hoops of adding folks to our family. The dichotomy of trying so hard to bring babies into an overwhelmingly flawed world is TOUGH but ultimately worth it to me to collaborate on the most important group project of my life with the guy I love and admire most and within families, chosen and otherwise, who are already treasured members of our village. In 2025 I hope to commit to the Artist’s Way, talk Seb into going on a game show or running for office or ideally both, get to know the doula community here both professionally + personally, and convince as many friends as I can to come have slumber parties in our guest bedroom that’s never without Hershey Kiss adorned pillows 🤎 (I’m so serious about that last one — if you’re my friend or ever have been my friend in literally any capacity/age/stage plz let’s connect!!
