Details & Location in Caption⬇️ 🍔The Oldest Hamburger Stand in Wisconsin 📍Pete’s Hamburger Stand in Prairie du Chien, WI 💡Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. @peteshamburgerstand has been run by the same family since 1909. Pete Gokey opened the original Hamburger Stand in 1909 where he began cooking his signature boiled Hamburgers. Hamburgers are the ONLY item on the menu and you can get your Hamburger topped with or without Onions, as well as Ketchup, Yellow Mustard or Brown Mustard. I’m going to be honest....I was a little hesitant to try a boiled hamburger since it reminded me of White Castle and I really don’t love White Castle burgers. (Mike on the other hand LOVES White Castle) So I was SUPER surprised by how much I loved the boiled hamburgers at Pete’s Hamburger Stand! They cook/boil the burgers along with a TON of onions and the deep rich onion flavor really makes the flavor of the burgers pop. Plus the simple condiments of ketchup and mustard really come together to create a truly terrific burger. P.S.
