#creatorsearchinsights We need no wings by @Ann Dávila Cardinal @Sourcebooks Landmark @Fable Two years ago, I followed a calling deep in my heart—one that urged me to create something meaningful for our community, a space where Latin American voices could be celebrated and uplifted. I knew there were so many of us longing for representation, for stories that felt like home, and for the joy of connecting with others who shared that yearning. And so, I started a book club—a leap of faith, driven by love and hope. From the start, I knew exactly which story would begin our journey: Ann Dávila Cardinal’s The Storyteller’s Death. I can still remember the feeling of reading it for the first time, its raw beauty, its honesty, and the way it made me feel seen. I just knew others would feel the same. And I wasn’t wrong. Even now, two years later, it’s still one of the most loved and talked-about books in our club—a book that brought us together and made us feel like family. As we celebrate this two-year anniversary, it only feels right to honor where we began by reading Ann’s newest novel, We Need No Wings. This milestone isn’t just about the books we’ve read, but the connections we’ve made, the stories we’ve shared, and the love we’ve poured into building a space that reflects who we are. This book club has been a gift, not just to me, but to everyone who’s joined along the way. It’s a reminder that representation matters, that stories have the power to heal, and that together, we can create something beautiful. Here’s to the stories still to come and the love that keeps us turning the page.
