Today IGA Talent Management and I accomplished our 67th #1 single as @Will Smith and his break out single "You Can Make It" crossed the finish line! Will Smith is #1 on the Billboard Gospel Radio Airplay charts! I want to take a second and thank Will Smith, Overbrook Ent (Ang and Miguel) for believing in me to accomplish the goal. I also want to say thank you to @EJ Gaines , Christian Redi, and Phil Thornton for connecting the dots. I want to thank the Slang and Influence Media team for being so easy to work with. This was an all-around team effort to accomplish goal and I and IGA could not have done it without your support! I want to thank my family, friends, and my staff at IGA for your support. So essentially, we are all a part of history! I want to end this post with this. I feel a change coming in the music business especially in the Gospel music business. We have so many artists in all formats that have such great songs and there are so many secular artists as well as new Gospel artists that have amazing inspirational songs that deal with real-life circumstances, depression, anxiety, mental health, and their journey in finding salvation. Some of us are fortunate to experience the love of Jesus already but that does not mean we close the doors or throw stones at people that are trying to find the same thing. These are the people we should embrace as that is what Jesus would want us to do. As LOVE will save the world. I always say to my daughters and to my close friends that the God I serve wants us where we are right now in our lives and not where we are going. I don't have all the answers but I do know that for much is given much is required and I try my best to do be the best I can be so I can be the best role model. I may not have the “perfect” teeth, smile, laugh, body, clothes, car, house, friends, family.. but I do have the absolute best memories of being loved. I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon. I grew up with a wooden spoon we had to make ourselves. My mother worked from home as a single parent. Constantly battling money, people, time and family. I grew up in the partial system. I have been the stereotype kid/teen/adult. Forced to grow up at a young age, watch my family plucked away by accidents and death. Out of a large family I’m the only one left here. I’ve had the ups and downs with depression. With relationships. I’ve been called abusive because of my anger, I’ve been called embarrassing because of my teeth and “ your an embarrassment to be around.” I’ve been told to kms, kick rocks, had faces bashed in, ribs broken.
