This zine was inspired by my recent trip to Solvang — a little Danish town in California 📍 I tried authentic Swedish fish, visited their local bookstore, and ate the best stew I ever had in my life. Then I saved all my receipts, trash, and polaroids to create this “scrapbook” style zine. The main difference between a zine and a scrapbook is that you usually don’t make photocopies of your scrapbook to distribute it to others. However, if you wanted to, that’s where zines come in. Here’s an example of when the two worlds collide, proving that zines have no limits. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I love pushing the boundaries in my zines to challenge my creativity. I view my style as an evolution of the format, not a departure. Do I look like him? ₊˚⊹♡ This zine was inspired by my childhood. Two things I loved most were crafting with my dad and his habit of randomly bursting into ’80s songs (hence the classic karaoke-style red ball). As I got older, my dad became less supportive of my art, encouraging me to focus on getting a ‘real job’ and all that. I used to abandon myself to fit his expectations…thinking we’d be closer if only I tried to be more like him. I don’t think that way at all anymore and we get along great now! The funny thing is, I see so much of myself in him and know we’re more alike than different. He’s a secret artist deep down…like where does he think I get it from? 🤨🤭🤫 #zines #zinetok #crafts
