In order to enter, you have to cross past a photo-booth (of course we took photos 📸). 📍Ra-Ra Rhino / 1329 Willoughby Ave Brooklyn, NY The cocktail bar is super vibey with delicious drinks from true mixologist. They have Happy Hour DAILY from 5PM-7PM with $10 cocktails. The showstopper is the massive purple Rhino head (hints the name) in the middle of the space that breathes smoke out its nose. Is it worth the hype!??!? I kept hearing how good The Monkey King was so I was lucky enough to snag a table as a walk-in this weekend. They’re an Asian restaurant specialize in Bengali and Chinese eats in Brooklyn. 📍 The Monkey King / 1329 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 🥢 General Tso’s Shrimp 🥢 Crab Fried Rice 🥢 Green Beans 🥢 Steak & Veggies 🥢 Garlic Cucumbers The decor was sexy! You’re greeted by this sexy bar with red led lights. They maximized the space so the bar seats around 16 and of course tables to dine at but the space is limited. We thought the food was good! My personal favorite was the general tso’s shrimp. I’ve only ever cane across the chicken option so when I saw shrimp, I was intrigued and it was such a great choice. The bell peppers, onions and chillies add the perfect kick to it. I’d also recommend the Black Pepper Steak with veggies as it was yummy. We just wished it was filet instead of ribeye for a buttery cut. Overall the spot was supper vibey and the customer service was excellent. They had a fire playlist going that added to the vibe (think Brent Faiyaz, SZA, The Internet, etc.) Check them out!

Now that the weather is getting nicer all I want to do is BRUNCH!! I checked out Monkey Thief brunch which offers pan-Asian restaurant specializing in cocktails. The space gives a tropical feel and paired with the cocktails, it gives vacation. It was supper fluffy and the passion fruit set it off. We also enjoyed the steak and eggs. They drizzle nam jim jaew which was a bit tangy but worked with the savoriness of the steak. The cocktails are one of one! I love how there is so much thought put into the cocktails from the name, ingredients to the seasons they serve them. Definitely recommend the Kiwi & Peel. I had a phenomenal dinner at Frena’s beautiful location on the Upper West Side. They specialize in Mediterranean cuisine and do it so well! 📍Frena / 773 Tenth Ave, New York City 🧿 Trio Dip w/ hummus, baba ganoush + spicy feta 🧿 Caesar salad 🧿 Madagascar Giant Shrimp 🧿 Lamb Terra Cotta 🧿 Dubai Cheesecake The bread was so fluffy and delicious that came with the trio of dips. I’m a spicy feta girl (which was delish) but something about their hummus had me 😍. I definitely recommend getting the Lamb Terra Cotta, not just for the beautiful presentation, but because it was packed with flavor! The owner Yesenia is amazing, pouring her all into her business. The Guava was outta this world with the perfect amount of sweetness and the PB&J had a copy and paste flavor profile of the sandwich. I'm currently eating the Cookies and Cream flavor as I type this lol. The flavors rotate seasonally so the list above are the current flavors.
