Grip Rigs on commercial for Hummer via @Legacy Grip The elevated height of the Hummer gave the flexibility to hard mount mod truss underneath, providing the rigidity needed. The rigs kicked things off with a hood mount using two 10-inch suction cups, carefully triangulating to avoid any wobble. The hostess tray shot was standard, with two cameras ratcheted to the car. One of the standout setups was a runner with the truss underneath, allowing for micro-adjustments along the vehicle’s side—perfect for those launch shots that needed extra stability. This was done with a pipe rig on the dolly holding a MoVI Pro.⁠ operated by Jim McConkey on the wheels with Anthony Cappello pulling focus using a 15-40mm lens to add a bit more speed to the start of the pullback by burying a short zoom out.⁠ Key Grip Charlie Sherron also put the desk on some track to allow our dexterous on-set dresser Kara Haas (watching the shot on her iPad) to move it into position.⁠ A 144 degree shutter angle was used to give the motion a subtle sharpening. LED space lights outside for cool skylight and two 1K tungsten Parcans with spot globes for sunlight on the window.
