I say house clean but I should have said my open plan living area clean😂 I’ve only just finished downstairs. A free house for a change means I can clean in peace and no one making more mess🙌🏻 Not bad-a full sofa clean and room clean in an hour and let’s face it you always find extra jobs to do that you didn’t think about doing. I had no intention of filming this hence why no makeup face 😂 but you know what sod it! This is what I look like most times😂 I went through about 4 cloths as it was dusty but boy does it feel good now it’s done! I used @lovezoflora for dusting today I have the @bisselluk carpet and sofa cleaner and I used my @bonapro.uk mop with some @method_uk almond floor cleaner. It makes your whole house smell of almonds! So yeh today I had a couple of work calls but I put on hold everything else as it’s not often I’m in the house on my own and I just really needed to have a good clean. Lighting Hacks to uplevel your space! Lighting can really make the difference to a space and sometimes adding more localised lighting can make all the difference. The first lighting hack I did was with these ceiling lights. I had no mains electric connected, I just screwed them into the ceiling and added these rechargeable lightbulbs. You can recharge with USB and comes with a remote too. . If you have panelling this is a fab one to do and really does make the whole room look so much more expensive. I’ve used these cob strip lights in lots of places in my home as they just peel and stick on and plug in. 3 DIYS that helped me be more organised! January for me is getting back to normal, having a good sort out and trying to get my life a little more organised. So thought I’d share these 3 DIYs that have massively helped me do that. Some were less time consuming and easier to do 😂 but nonetheless all have made an impact. Snow day! ❄️⛄️ Football was cancelled🙌🏻 we finally got some snow🙌🏻 (we don’t ever get much in York usually) means only one thing!….sledging with the family! I think the last time it snowed and settled was around 10yrs ago here so we made the most of it. We met some family and just went close by (not many hills near us unfortunately but they made the most of it. You’d never guess these two were 19 and 17😂 but I love that their inner child comes out when they see snow. 3 design features that help us use our garden through the seasons -part 2 Some of these have meant we can use in them all different types of weather apart from the outdoor kitchen which we only don’t use when it’s rainy or snowing-but it’s nice to use it on an evening even when it’s chilly too. . We have glass across the back of the house so it was important that the garden was just like another room in the house. Everyone loves a before and after but actually I’m going to take you on a journey from beginning to end. ad Do I regret it-heck no! If you asked me that everyday leading up to the trip I would have said something different 😂 I don’t know about you but I’m the organiser and sort holidays, finances etc…out, I do it all! so when @Hays Travel asked if they could organise a surprise trip for me and Danny I thought it would be amazing! They asked me lots of detailed questions to make sure they would pick the best place, flights, excursions etc… and even though I was confident it would be amazing there’s still always a part where you worry as I’m the one who organises every detail. But….I should have never worried! We are in the beautiful Abu Dhabi at the @RixosMarinaAbuDhabi -totally lovely and relaxing. Ikea hack! We popped into @IKEAUK on Saturday and got some furniture pieces to help revamp the hallway and saw this tray two pack and I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them. It’s a lazy but great option -having your snacks and drinks literally next to you wherever you are on the sofa-it just fits right in and is super secure. I used a super strong glue (that I used to make my art frame) it’s the no nonsense mitre glue and comes with an activator so the fin part won’t fall off🙌🏻 You could do this with any type tray and colour to match your aesthetic to be fair just not too big otherwise you might not fit on the seat with it. . #ikeahack #ikeahacks #diyhomedecor #neutralaesthetic #ikeafinds #ikeahome #diyprojects #tvtray . Thought I’d share a few reels on how I designed a garden so that we could use it throughout all the seasons The first episode is -having lots of evergreen plants. We do have perennials too which bloom in spring and summer each year but generally the garden looks quite similar all year round. I think I have that disorder where I need a bit of sunshine in my life to make everything feel alright 😂 I do love the coziness of winter but I guess that’s why we have seasons -it’s nice to have the change. To be honest my garden doesn’t change that much during winter other than my white salvia are in hibernation and so are my hydrangeas.
