Rain! Let’s talk about rain, baby! It rains a lot where I live and my garden is almost thriving due to the naturally wet climate. Living in a relatively rainy climate means I don’t have to hand water or use a sprinkler in my garden very often either - the benefits of a rainforest! During the dryer months I definitely need to supplement the natural rains with a sprinkler, but in general, I let my garden go wild and let nature do what nature does best. 🌿 #garden #gardening #emsgarden #rainshower

Garlic! Last year we planted garlic in the fall, watched it sprout up in the spring, pushing through the layer of insulating leaves I covered the garden with. As it grew I shared the growth with you, we cut off the garlic scapes and harvested the garlic from the garden together too! I forgot to post the clean up and the tidying of the garlic when I tied them together in neat little clusters of 5. Once they were all tied together I brought them inside to dry further and have been storing them and using them ever since! I’ve been missing my garden like crazy this winter! Last season I picked up some citronella plants and I will most definitely be having them again in my garden this year. The citronella kept the bugs away when it was fresh and fragrant. I went from being unable to be outside to comfortably sitting out in the evening close to the citronella with minimal bites! Plus I thought the colour was beautiful. It’s a soft, subtle pink with a darker streak in the petal and it was just super beautiful to have in my garden. #garden #gardening #emsgarden #flowers
