It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved and magnificent cow, Eddie. Eddie was one of the St. Louis Six, a group of courageous cows who escaped a slaughterhouse in 2017 and inspired people worldwide with their story of survival and resilience. Eddie and his brothers were rescued and began their new lives at The Gentle Barn, where they became symbols of hope and second chances. Eddie brought so much joy to everyone who met him. Whether he was cuddling with his brothers, following staff around for cookies, greeting visitors, or sharing his peaceful hugs in Cow Hug Therapy, Eddie had a way of making everyone feel loved and comforted. His gentle presence and warm hugs helped heal so many hearts. Eddie lived his life with an unwavering kindness that reminded us of the power of compassion. His passing is a tremendous loss, but his legacy of love, healing, and connection will live on in the countless lives he touched. We will remember Eddie forever, and will continue to give his brothers — Chico, Roo, Houdini, and Johnny Cash — all the love, support, and care they need during this difficult time.
