Through food!!! 🥘 😋 daal recipe: Daal Base: 1 cup of Masoor Lentils 3 Cups of Water 1/4 cup of White Onions 1 Tomatoes 1/2 Teaspoon of Turmeric 1 Teaspoon of Salt + 1 more teaspoon of salt for later 2 Bay Leaves + small cinnamon sticks + panch puran or 1 tsp of cumin seeds Cilantro 1 Green Chilis Tharka: * 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil * 1 Teaspoon of Cumin Seeds * 1/2-1 Cup of Sliced White Onions * 4 Sliced Garlic Cloves * 2 Dried Red Chilis INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Wash your lentils about 3-4 times till the water is clear. 2. In a deep pot on a medium-low heat sautè the white onions with, salt, turmeric, and bay leaves, along with 4 cups of water. 3. Let the lentils soften, this took about an half an hour till it was soft yet thick. (Depends on the texture you like) 4. In a separate pan, on medium heat add the tablespoon of oil and add and sauté the red chilis and cumin seeds for about 1-2 minutes. 5. Add the onions and garlic fry till golden brown. 6. Slowly add the tharka mixture into the daal. 7. Add additional salt to taste and combine. 8. Sprinkle on 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro. 9. Serve hot with white rice or roti. . . .
