This #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re celebrating Miami’s legacy as a hub for Black entrepreneurs, featuring small businesses that are leaving a lasting impact on the community. Lorna Westmoreland’s journey is one of resilience, risk, and passion. Born in Jamaica and raised in the Bahamas, she immigrated to the U.S. with nothing, working multiple jobs to build a new life. She took a leap of faith with her son and opened @Lorna’s Caribbean – a decision that changed everything. Lorna’s has been a go-to spot for bold, authentic Caribbean flavors, from braised oxtails to jerk chicken and Bahamian conch. It’s a place where food, music and culture come together. Follow us for more stories about amazing Black-owned businesses making a difference. 💙 . . . #CaribbeanFood #MiamiGardens #SupportBlackBusinesses #BuyBlack #BlackOwned #BlackOwnedBusiness #BlackOwnedBusinesses #BlackOwnedRestaurant #BlackOwnedRestaurants #BlackEntrepreneur #BlackSmallBusiness #SmallBlackBusiness #NEXTInsurance
