Have you heard about the hottest new Chinese restaurant in West Hartford? 🔥 @sichuanalleyus recently opened this past fall, bringing delicious modern Chinese cuisine with a Szechuan influence to the area! We instantly loved the vibe of the dining room, and the menu had so many fantastic choices. There’s even whole sections of the menu dedicated to gluten-free and vegan options! Many dishes are available spicy or non-spicy, so there’s truly something for everyone. Sichaun Alley actually got its start in Singapore, and West Hartford is its first U.S. location! The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. If you plan to dine in, we highly recommend making reservations, as it was already packed when we went at lunchtime. Good news! 🎉 Good News Restaurant & Bar has officially reopened! After the retirement of the former owner and world-renowned chef, Carole Peck, the restaurant has returned under a new owner with a fresh look. If you’re familiar with Good News, you’ll still find an eclectic vibe and favorites from the original menu. We were very impressed by the farm-to-table options and the quality of our meal. It’s definitely a new favorite of ours in Woodbury, and we look forward to coming back and trying more! You’ll never “fur-get” a night at Hair of the Dog in Milford! 🐶 This spot is more than just your average neighborhood spot—it’s a labor of love by the owner, Sandra, a Milford native with over 35 years of experience in the restaurant business. In 2020, she decided to take a bold step and turn the bar where she’d worked for years into her own, giving the space a fresh identity while maintaining its community feel. From menu items all named after popular songs to walls lined with pictures of memes, Sandra’s goal is simple: to create a space where everyone feels welcome and entertained. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink, delicious food, or just the vibrant atmosphere, you’ll definitely wish this was your neighborhood bar! One of the last restaurants we visited in 2024 was @Romanacci! My mom and I stopped in for lunch while we were in the area and enjoyed a variety of Italian comfort foods. We went to their location in Norwalk, but you can also find them in Trumbull, Fairfield, the Westport Train Station, and at Westport’s Compo Beach as Old Mill Grocery & Deli by Romanacci. This family-owned business was opened by two brothers who pride themselves on making delicious food that’s made fresh daily using locally sourced ingredients. A few of the dishes we tried were even recent additions to the menu, and we were definitely happy with our meal.
