When you’re experiencing DPDR, it can feel like you’re floating outside of yourself or disconnected from your own body. I used to think deep breathing would calm me down (it was recommended to me by every therapist), but instead, it made me hyperfocused on my breathing—and I developed a sensorimotor obsession (it’s fine, I’m over that too). DPDR thrives on self-monitoring. The more you check in with your body and mind, the more trapped you feel. What if you could stop trying to "reset" yourself and trust that your body knows how to breathe, your mind knows how to rest, and your system knows how to find balance without your help? This shift changed everything for me—and it can for you too.
