What listening to your body looks like as a type 2 diabetic. I was concerned because my vision became blurry followed by a headache, typically a sign of high blood sugar. My initial check seemed “normal” but as more time passed i realized my sugar was climbing. I tried to manage with some water and a walk, with no results. My sugar spike also cause my BP to rise. Listen to your body! It can’t help prevent long term issues 🫶🏽 #DiabetesManagement #type2diabetic #type2diabetes #diabeticlife #insulinresistance #diabeteseducation #diabetesawareness

Please help! We need to email all our letters explaining how important this is to us. As a mother, my child’s safety in school is top priority and although we have great care at our elementary school, that’s not the case in every school. Let’s make a change. Let’s use our voice! How often should you check your blood sugar as a Type 2 diabetic? It depends on your treatment plan—whether you’re managing with diet and exercise, oral medication, or insulin. In this video, I break down the best blood sugar monitoring routine for different situations and why Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) can be a game-changer. Tracking your glucose levels consistently helps you understand your body’s response to food, stress, and activity—leading to better decision-making and improved diabetes management. Another key reason to check your sugar is if you experience symptoms of high or low blood sugar—such as dizziness, fatigue, excessive thirst, sweating, or confusion. Recognizing these signs early can help prevent dangerous spikes or drops in glucose levels. Are you checking your blood sugar often enough? Let’s talk about it! #DiabetesManagement #type2diabetic #type2diabetes #diabeticlife #insulinresistance #diabeteseducation #diabetesawareness
How I lost 100 pounds as a type 2 diabetic. This is less of a how to and more about my experience and journey through weightloss. In order to manage our health, we must think in terms of longevity. It took me two years to lose 100 pounds, that’s an average of 4.2 pounds a month. Read that again. But what’s two years when we should be thinking in terms of our lifetime. A lifestyle change is forever so focusing on time does nothing but limit you. Set your goals, be disciplined, and stay consistent. ♥️ #wei#weightlossi#weightlossmotivationi#weightlossjouneyp#type2diabetica#diabeticlifes#insulinresistancea#DiabetesManagementp#type2diabetesa#diabetesdiet
If you have type 1 diabetes and a high blood sugar, this will save you a lot of headache (literally) You’ve been in this position before: 💉Your blood sugar is higher than you want it to be 💉You’ve taken a correction dose 💉You’ve hydrated 💉You’re waiting for your number to come down, but your number is not dropping as fast as you want it to.  Many people like to rage bolus…. Meaning that you will just dose and dose and dose, and eventually it all catches up, the bottom falls out, and your blood sugar goes super low which is super frustrating. So when should you correct next when you just took a correction? In a perfect world, you’re waiting at least two hours. Why? Because if you are taking rapid acting insulin, 90% of the insulin should be out of your insulin at that point. So then you are less likely to stack your insulin and less likely to absolutely tank when all the insulin starts to kick in. Your care team should have taught you this as part of “corrections 101” upon diagnosis… If they did not, you probably need to consider a different care team 😎 #diabeteseducation #highbloodsugar #t1dlookslikeme #diabetesawareness #diabetesmanagement

These are snacks I would buy as a type 2 diabetic, but keep in mind that they are still processed foods and should be eaten in moderation. While they can fit into a balanced diet, it’s important to prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods whenever possible. Part of managing diabetes is not just watching carbs and sugar but also being mindful of overall food quality, including the amount of processed foods we consume. Processed snacks can sometimes contain hidden sugars, unhealthy fats, and excess sodium, which can impact blood sugar, heart health, and overall well-being. That said, these snacks can be convenient options for when you’re on the go or need something quick—just remember to read labels, watch portions, and pair them with fiber, protein, or healthy fats to help stabilize blood sugar levels. #DiabetesManagement #type2diabetic #type2diabetes #diabeticlife #insulinresistance #diabeteseducation #diabetesawareness

High cortisol can silently sabotage your health, especially if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes. Unexplained belly fat, constant fatigue, poor sleep, bloating, and sugar cravings are all red flags. Cortisol disrupts blood sugar, digestion, and metabolism, making it harder to stay healthy. Managing stress isn’t just about feeling better—it’s about protecting your long-term well-being. 💪 #HealthTips #CortisolManagement #MetabolicHealth #DiabetesManagement #MindfulEating #StressReduction

Did you know that high blood glucose levels can actually trick you into thinking you’re hungry? When your blood sugar is elevated, it can create a false sense of hunger, causing cravings and overeating—even if your body doesn’t really need more food. This happens because your body’s response to high glucose throws off the signals that regulate hunger and fullness. Instead of giving you that satisfied feeling after eating, your body might continue to send hunger cues, leading you to reach for more food, especially sugary or carb-heavy snacks. By managing your blood sugar through balanced meals and a comprehensive care plan, you can avoid these confusing hunger signals and stay more in tune with what your body really needs. Let’s work together on a plan! #BloodSugar #HealthyEating #nutritiontips #HungerSignals #BalancedDiet #BloodGlucose #HealthyLifestyle #Cravings #WeightManagement #WellnessJourney #NutritionAwareness #Consultation #HealthTips #EatSmart #MindfulEating #DiabetesManagement #SugarBalance #HealthyChoices #FoodForThought #WellnessCoach
