Did you know….. we can often teach a child how to unlock their knees from fully extended to a slight knee bend within 1 DMI session! Why is this important? We need to help unlock knees to engage the quad muscles for dissociation and stepping. A lot of kiddos, especially those with hypotonia or those with spasticity, tend to lock their legs for stability and as a compensation to avoid using their core/quads. #dmitherapy #pediatricphysicaltherapy #dmiintensives
