This session went so much better than I was expecting! I am not a dog trainer, but I love training my dog. A couple years ago, I listen to a webinar about increasing the value of kibble, and we tried with some success. This topic came up on in a self study class I am currently doing, so I wanted to give it another try! I think this time around, I have a better understanding of the concept and much better timing. This is about 10 minutes of our morning sped up to fit into about two minutes. Auggie is sitting on a place next to my kitchen while I prep his enrichment and meals for the day. At one point he does try to get up but I use spatial pressure to correct him and reword him when he settles again. He did a great unattended stay for a couple minutes. Then the roomba started to bully him. So I gave him some kibbles. Finally stopped rotting on the couch to train my dog😂 We continued to work on loose leash walking today and I was soooo impressed with Sebastian. We did a few round of our ping pong game before getting started, but overall today had sooo many good wins! Wins from this session: - I kept my hand out of my treat pouch unless actively rewarding - Sebastian was a lot more engaged with me than he has been in any other session - I was able to add left turns in today without messing up his loose leash walking - we started adding sits back in when I stop Things that we can improve on: - I caught myself doing this and corrected it by the end of the session, but I need to nicely give him treats as rewards instead of tossing them to him. A lot of his mistakes today were due to my reward delivery - I would like for him to sit next to me/still in the heel position when we stop.
