Night 3 updates: she had a long day today because I introduced her to one of my friends and she did really well with that! She also got to see Luna through the door because Luna likes to wait at the door now. There was some hissing, but it’s all right. I’m still really proud of both of them for being curious about each other! I also got to text the rescue she came from @Saveallthecats and they let me know that had I not came when I did, they would have given her a break from the cage, and the PetSmart worker told me the rescue was close to taking her back because no one was asking about her. Afternoon update: I found her description of her demeanor from PetSmart hidden in her medical records. To know she’s spent half of her life up to this point trying to find a home, and to know she’s was just dumped at a barn, is heartbreaking. Day 11 morning update: say hi to Novi! 🌌🩵 I called her a lot of the names people in the comments suggested as well as my own, but she didn’t respond to any of them! The only one that I got a response to was Novi: she gave me slow blinks, winks, she’s looked at me, and has come to me when I’ve called her Novi. I think the name really fits her because Novi means “new.” Because truth be told, I’ve been talking to my therapist about the idea of getting another cat, but didn’t think I was going to do it for another year or 2. But, this baby has given me new life, new hope, new dreams, and new reasons to stay.
