I love to help my FTM mamas move around and try creative positions to get the baby down and out. That path has to be paved, so to speak. Tug of War is my fave go-to!! With tug of war, there is no holding the breath or pushing. It is simply tugging the “rope,” but the muscles you need to use are fully engaged without much thought. PS LNM Birth classes are open for enrollment, including virtual labor support with a labor nurse and 2 doulas!!! Learn more..link in bio! Epidural side effects can be a little unexpected. I remember the first patient I had who had unexpected gas. Every time she moved, she would have gas. She would die laughing, more gas; we would both die laughing. The harder we laughed, the louder she had gas... I still have a fit of giggles when I think of her...If you are reading this, please drop a comment...It’s been 16 years but hey... I have had so much fun with some of my patients. Anyway, epidurals can bring some weird side effects; make the best of it! How about you? Have a story 👇🏼 Drop it below... ⭐️⭐️Also, 5 Days to A Fearless Birth Starts next week, 5 FREE classes; I am teaching all about birth fears, creating birth plans, pain management options, and pushing...all da things...Come and hang out...Comment #fearlessbirth to get info and join us!⭐️ #epidural #reels #reelsofinstragram #epiduralbirth #mommoments #childbirthclass #pregnant #labornursemama #birthpreparation #laborsupport #childbirtheducation #birthtips #epiduraltips

Did you know you can try different pushing positions even with an epidural? 🙌 While the epidural might limit mobility, there are still several positions that can help you feel comfortable and aid in delivery! Here are a few to consider: ✨ Side-lying: Gently reduces pressure and helps with energy conservation. ✨ Semi-sitting or reclined: Gravity assists while keeping you supported. ✨ Hands-and-knees (modified): Helps with back pain and optimal baby positioning. ✨ Supported squatting: Opens the pelvis and uses gravity for a more effective push. Talk to your care team to explore your options and find the best position for you and your baby. Even with an epidural, you’ve got choices! 💪 Comment EXPECTING if you want to learn more about your choices and what you can do to prep for birth! #laboranddelivery #epiduralbirth #empoweredbirth #birthing #pregnancyjourney

Did you know you don’t have to give birth on your back, even if you have an epidural? While the reduced mobility from an epidural can limit certain positions, you still have options to make labor and delivery more comfortable and effective. 💡 Some alternatives include: 🌟 Side-lying: Lying on your side with a peanut ball or support can help open the pelvis and reduce pressure. 🌟 Semi-sitting or reclined: Sitting upright with the bed or pillows for support lets gravity assist you while keeping you comfortable. 🌟 Hands-and-knees: With assistance, this position can relieve lower back pressure and help reposition your baby. 🌟 Supported squatting: Using a squatting bar or support from your team can help open your pelvis and engage your baby. Your care team is there to help guide you and support your choices. Advocate for the positions that feel best for you! Birth doesn’t have to look just one way—epidural or not. 🤰💪 Comment EXPECTING below if you want to know more about birth prep and what your options are! #birthoptions #epiduralbirth #laborsupport #empoweredmom #pregnancytips #laboranddelivery
