We removed 37 fibroids weighing over 7 pounds. Through a low horizontal incision. Despite the size of all of the fibroids pictured, I pointed out to my patient which one was causing her the most problems. Are you surprised by the size ? Hysteroscopies are utilized to 1) diagnose issues within the uterus and 2) operate on any issues found. If scar tissue is found and removed, can it improve my chances of conception? #hysteroscopy #fibroids #uterinefibroids #fibroidawareness #fibroidsurgery #daysurgery #dayinmylife #personalstory #fertilityjourney
What I Eat to Help Shrink My Fibroids 🌿 First, a quick disclaimer: this is my journey and what works for me. Everyone’s body is different, and fibroid management is deeply personal. But if you’ve been following me, you know I’ve been open about my battle with fibroids—a condition that affects so many Black women—and I’m choosing to approach this holistically. One of the biggest changes I’ve made is in my diet: ✨ I’ve cut back on excessive bread and dairy. The only dairy I still consume are eggs and butter—cheese is a rare guest on my plate. ✨ I swapped out rice for bulgur, a healthier alternative that’s been working well for me. ✨ Alongside my diet changes, I’m drinking herbal teas, doing castor oil packs at night, and trying to stay active with daily steps. ✨ Also taking my supplements (D3 fish oil, K2 ,B2, magnesium) Do I stick to everything perfectly? Absolutely not. Some nights, the castor oil pack doesn’t make it on, the tea doesn’t get brewed, and the steps don’t get counted. But one thing I’m staying consistent with is my diet because, for me, it’s been a game-changer (oops—let’s say life-shifter instead 😅). This is a new journey for me, and I’m learning as I go, adjusting to find the right routine that fits my life. What changes have you made for your health recently? Drop a ❤️ in the comments if you’re on a journey to prioritize yourself too. #FibroidAwareness #BlackWomenHealth #HolisticHealth #FibroidSupport #HealthyEating #DietAndHealth #BulgurOverRice #NaturalHealing #CastorOilPacks #SelfCareJourney

4 weeks post op and feeling pretty good! I do scar massage and care to not only reduce the visibility but to break up forming internal scars. I did a few weeks of PFPT before my decision to have a hysterectomy. I did not have pelvic floor dysfunction but I did have some scaring inside at the port sites from my myo. The physical therapist taught me to do massage to break that up as it can cause some mild to moderate pelvic pain. This is NOT medical advice. Just what I am doing to help myself heal. #hysterectomy #womenshealth #womenshealthmatters #womenshealthcare #gyn #gynecology #fibroids #fibroidtumors #uterinefibroids #endometriosisawareness #pelvicpain #endometriosis #fibroidawareness #robotichysterectomy #laparoscopicsurgery #scarmassage #scar #massage
