Jerell had just injured himself a few weeks before this. He fell down the stairs and we were told he had an ACL tear and that after some physical therapy, he’d be just fine. He was bedridden from the pain in his knee which everyone told me was too extreme to sound like an ACL tear but we trusted the doctors. This man loved so hard. Even from the bed, he made sure I had a beautiful birthday. He flew out my best friend from Detroit as a complete surprise to me and planned a whole week full of fun. All from the bed. And we all had a blast partying in that bed. He knew how to make any situation fun. God I miss him so much. On Sunday, March 24th, 2024, my husband of 18 years took his last breath. I spent the days leading up to it talking him through his transition to Heaven. Here I was saying my final goodbye before the funeral home took him away. Now, almost a year later, we are about to officially begin our fight to get justice for the flagrant misdiagnosis of my husband’s cancer which ultimately led to his untimely death at the young age of 38, leaving behind 3 young children and me, his wife. My heart is so heavy. I followed @Deborah Finck story for a while now and knowing this sunshine closed her eyes and went to sleep is just hard. She was the epitome of a true fighter. Truly if you watched her videos you know that she never gave up. She fought so hard and never lost her positivity. She lived life to the fullest until her last day.
