If your child uses delayed echolalia (also known as “scripting”) to communicate, they are likely a Gestalt Language Processor. This includes scripting (echolalia). ♥️ ♾️ Validating helps them feel seen and heard ♾️ Validating gives them confidence to communicate ♾️ This increases the likelihood of self-generated language in the future. There are so many factors that go into this (self/generated, unprompted language), but validating/acknowleging is so important! ♾️ Echolalia communicates!
