The best runners are the best eaters… 🍕🍩🍔 It’s a good thing I love running, because I also LOVE eating. The average person burn around 300 calories running 2 miles. For me, that’s WELL worth the work.  To put it into perspective, here’s what 300 calories looks like: • 1 glazed donut • 1 medium avocado • 1 McDonald’s cheeseburger • 1 cup of cooked oatmeal with honey and nuts • 1 slice of pepperoni pizza • 1 cup of Greek yogurt with honey and granola • 2 scrambled eggs with 1 slice of buttered toast • 1 medium bowl of ice cream (2 scoops) • 1 large apple with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter • 1 small burrito with beans, rice, and veggies Running can be a great way to achieve balance. When an opportunity to do something hard arises, TAKE IT! 💪  I was close to canceling a run today, due to the count of cold and rain… obviously that would have been the WRONG answer (I’m not perfect… I definitely make excuses for myself sometimes, I’m only human).  But today, it felt like a good opportunity to get in some good training. Not just the run, not just with the added weight, but with the weather being the icing on the cake. The discomfort of it all, dealing with it, pushing through. That’s what we trained. This lifestyle isn’t just about getting a workout in on the reg… it’s about consistency, perseverance, and seizing the opportunity to do something hard for yourself… not just to say you did it… but to become better for it. The more you push past the difficulties of your life (instead of avoiding them) the more you with learn and grow, and the better equipped you’ll become to take on future tough challenges that will inevitably come into your life. This year went by fast… they always do. Looking back through my photos on my phone, I feel good about it. I accomplished a lot of things I set out to do, I met a lot of people along the way, and most important, I spent time with my family in meaningful and memorable ways. I think overall, 2024 was a good year, and for no particular reason other than there seems to be a lot of smiles in my photos, not just of me, but of the people I care about. My family will tell you… I’m always “going.” I don’t like white space, I can’t sit still… sometimes that is to a detriment… but I’m getting better at prioritizing what’s important every single day. It’s still a work in progress, but 2024 shows me that I’m 100% getting better. I hope your year has some positive memories you can draw on and remember. Memories that help you gain positive perspective, and memories that you can use to help you move into 2025 with a strong will, a strong soul, and a strong desire to kick it in the ass even harder then you did in 2024! 💪  Cheers to a new year!
