Replying to @Allofus 🚨 DISCLAIMER 🚨 This is my technique for fine hair installs, created specifically for my DIY clients. I am not affiliated with this brand, and they do not recommend doing this. Now let’s break it down: When you rip extensions in half (like I do for this method), it will naturally lower the quality and longevity of the hair. Why? Because you’re literally separating the wefts. This makes them thinner and more delicate, meaning they may break down faster. HOWEVER, here’s the good news: By splitting the set, you’re only wearing half (or half of a half), which means you still have the other half of hair saved for later. So while the first set might last around 6 months, you can switch to the backup for the second 6 months, giving you a solid year of wear. If you have fine hair, this technique is for YOU! Why? Fine hair can’t handle the same weight as regular hair. Less is more when it comes to protecting your natural hair from damage or alopecia. Be mindful! Pay attention to signs like excessive shedding when removing the extensions and adjust accordingly. 👉 If you don’t trust yourself to do this at home, ask your stylist to install and maintain them for you! (P.S. I do this for my clients, and most stylists should be able to as well.) Why this works for fine hair: Traditional tape-ins involve two heavy pieces of extension hair sandwiching your thin strand of fine hair. With this method, it’s one piece of extension hair attaching to two sides of your natural hair, which is much gentler and safer for fine hair. ⚠️ Again, this is not a brand-recommended technique, just my personal method. If you try this and it works for you, let me know! I’d love to hear your feedback. ❤️ Comment below if you want an even more in-depth tutorial!
